In an era where “pop” prevails, and everyone sounds the same, where music is starting to lack that artistic element, and radios have a less than desirable track selection on replay, there is still some hope for us real, authentic music lovers…

Emerging quietly in the background, is a refreshing and unique sound echoing out of Las Vegas, Nevada seemingly grabbing the attention of fans all over the world.

IMAGINE DRAGONS are an indie rock band consisting of four guys and one lady. They started briefly in a university town in Utah, and eventually relocated to Vegas.

They started off as any band does, appearing at any venue that would accept them, and fighting for exposure on any level. They began entering ‘Battle of the Bands’ competitions, proving to be a worthy cause as they effortlessly won 4 battles in a row, clearly loved, respected and well received by their hometown fans.
The quintet proceeded to enter a real recording studio for the first time in 2009. With much practice, studio time, and the opportunity to work along side some major musical talents the band was able to successfully record and release three EPs titled Imagine Dragons EP, Hell and Silence EP and It’s Time EP. Not long after, they were sought out and signed to major label Interscope Records in November 2011. Now a signed talent, the band has done various live performances all over Vegas casinos, a handful of music festivals, and have been opening acts for huge number of artists all over the U.S and Europe. They are also now working closely with well known producer ‘Alex Da Kid’ (Eminem, Rihanna, Paramore) and have recorded their first major label release entitled Continued Silence, which was just digitally released on February 14, 2012. On February 21, 2012 their single “It’s Time” began hitting the airwaves.

The buzz they’re getting is all positive, rave reviews as well as a huge fan following on Twitter and YouTube. All of this positive energy and the vibes they’re putting out there has catapulted these five into the industry and made us all aware that, well…Dragons aren’t always so scary.

Sophisticated singing, eloquent songwriting and energetic stage presence, together with iconic style and a sense of pure individuality separates this group from any band in their league.

Their tracks are idealistic and romantic, filled with the sound of impressive instrumentals and flawless vocals from lead singer, Dan Reynolds. Their musical style gives off a U2 type vibe, brushing a little with politics and society, but mainly focusing on matters of the heart.

Hearing these songs is real musical bliss. It’s electric and impossible NOT to groove to. It feels good and it sounds better.

Songs like “All Eyes”, “Cover Up”, and the incredible “Selene” (love “Selene”) have that electronica dynamic, along with the elements or a real rock sound. The confidence of true seasoned artists with the sound of a vibrant new group gives these dragons an edge and distinction that ultimately sets them apart from any other musical talent they may be compared to…’The Killers’ were the last major band to emerge out of the Vegas scene.

This band is a rare treasure in a sea full of musical talent. Chic, stylish persona (Swagger if you will) infectious sound and a promising future. Now I cant seem to Imagine (a life without) Dragons.

Look for Imagine Dragons at the SXSW Music Festival 2012, on MTVu’s Woodie Awards Festival, and they will also be touring with ‘The Jezebels’.
