Apple’s Company Store – 1 Infinite Loop, Cupertino, CA 95014

We know you can’t live without that apple lanyard that you have your flash drive hanging off of. If you are looking for that and many other apple branded items look no further than the apple company store. Unless you’re buying bootleg, this is the ONLY place you will find apple branded products like t-shirts, hats, and all sorts of cool fashion accessories.

Mark Zuckerberg’s Dorm at Harvard – 2 Kirkland House, Cambridge, MA 01238

This is actual the birthplace of Facebook, how cool is that? Zuckerberg created what was then “thefacebook.com” while studying at Harvard in 2004. If you are looking to visit, you can see Kirkland house while visiting independently but if you want to get a better view with some inside information make sure and schedule a student-led walking tour.

The Computer History Museum – 1401 N. Shoreline Boulevard, Mountain View, CA 94043

This museum boasts one of the world’s largest collections of computer artifacts. Located right in Silicon Valley you will learn everything you could ever want to know about the history behind companies like Adobe, Apple, Intel, Sun Microsystems, HP and so much more. Oh, and don’t forget to visit the “Hall of Fellows” which highlights individuals who have made great advancements in the field.

The Google Garage – 232 Santa Margarita Avenue, Menlo Park, CA 94025

The birthplace of one of the most valuable companies in the world is right at your fingertips. Larry Page and Sergey Brin rented the garage from a friend for $1,700 a month. This small fee was the price to pay for Google’s very first headquarters. Since then, in 2006 Google bought the house in order to preserve the legacy of the company.

The HP Garage – 367 Addison Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94309

We know that HP is not quite as cool as Apple or Google, but you can’t deny that they have made many important contributions to the industry over the years. This is proved by the fact that the garage that the company started out of is now a historic landmark affectionately called “birthplace of Silicon Valley”. Many, many years before Google, Apple or any other modern computer company Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard began their work in the late 1930s from this very garage. In 2004 H.P. started bringing the garage back to its original glory by making it look like it did back when Bill and Dave were hard at work. Unfortunately the garage is not open to the public but you can view it from the street.
