The Governors Award is an annual event celebrating awards conferred by the Academy’s Board of Governors, which include the Irving G. Thalberg Memorial Award, the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award and the Honorary Award. Each summer the board announces the recipients and later in November they’re honored at a dinner gala. Event highlights are then incorporated into the year’s Academy Awards show.

You can check out the highlights of the evening on the Academy’s YouTube channel.
