It’s 2026, and Snooki’s the boss, with Canada’s newest Shore housemates raising the stakes

It’s been more than a decade since Jersey Shore first hit screens, but the energy that made the original iconic hasn’t gone anywhere; it’s just moved north. Paramount+’s Canada Shore drops viewers into a house in Kelowna where ten strangers live, work, and party under one roof, all while being monitored 24/7.

Two of the housemates bringing the energy this season are Keyaira and Isaiah. SWAGGER caught up with them in Toronto, where they explained they both grew up watching the original MTV hit Jersey Shore. “I was quite young when it came out, but my mom loved it, so I’d watch it too. Sometimes she wouldn’t let me see all the scenes, but I always found a way,” Keyaira shares.

“Same here,” Isaiah adds with a grin. “I definitely watched it growing up and loved the chaos and energy of the show.”

Inside the Shore house, smartphones are gone, interactions are raw, and cameras are rolling 24/7. “You couldn’t just walk away and sit on your phone when conversations weren’t going your way,” Keyaira explains. “You had to deal with it face-on. It made connections way more real.”

“It’s a good way to just enjoy your experience and not take things for granted,” Isaiah adds. “I needed a break from my phone anyway.”

Joining the cast later than most, Keyaira knew she would have to navigate established dynamics. “I have a lot of energy and can be really loud, which I know can be intimidating for some people,” she says. “I was a little nervous going in, especially so late after everybody had already started making connections and getting comfortable. But everyone was so welcoming, and they did choose ten crazy people, so I think everyone saw my energy and were like, okay — this is good.”

Life in the house isn’t all drama and cameras; the roommates are also given work assignments that test teamwork, patience, and endurance. From running food stands to helping at local events, the tasks are as challenging as they are essential.

“Rib fest was definitely the highlight,” Keyaira says. “You’re working hard, having fun, and learning how to handle the pace all at once.” Isaiah agrees, saying, “It shows you how the house functions as a unit.”

Guiding them is a very familiar face: Jersey Shore icon Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi. Far from a guest star, she’s the boss who sets expectations, dishes out tasks, and keeps the house on its toes. “She’s hilarious but also super real,” Isaiah told SWAGGER. “She’ll call you out if you’re slacking, but she’s also there to give advice or just check in. Even when it gets messy, she makes you feel like you’re doing it together.”

On life inside the house, both Keyaira and Isaiah shared some personal insights. When asked to describe the season, Keyaira laughs: “Chaotic.” Isaiah adds with a grin: “Crazy.” Describing the house itself, both admit in unison: “Messy.”

Reflecting on her experience, Keyaira opens up about the challenge and the reward of forming connections while being filmed 24/7. “I kind of forgot about the cameras. You get in there and it’s crazy, but then you realize you actually form real connections. The cameras fade into the background, and you just live the experience.”

Isaiah, reflecting on a personal moment in episode two, opens up about why he felt safe sharing his story with fellow housemate Ryleigh. “I was kind of an open book,” he says. “I just wanted to get to know people and tell them about me. I feel like a brother to a lot of these people because I grew up with two younger sisters. I’m the oldest and the only boy, and my dad didn’t live with me for a long time. I grew up around female energy all the time, so I know how to handle it; it just felt like home.”

For fans of the original Jersey Shore, the cast has a simple message: keep an open mind. “I really hope people don’t compare it to the original Jersey Shore,” Isaiah says. “Just enjoy the ride.” Keyaira adds, “We’re not here to replace or recreate it—we’re doing our own thing.”

The first two episodes of Canada Shore are now streaming on Paramount+.
