The six-piece drop revives the cult 1998 Theta AR Jacket and marks 25 years of one of outdoor fashion’s longest-running collaborations.
Arc’teryx and BEAMS have been crossing the line between technical outdoor gear and streetwear for 25 years. For their latest collaboration, they’re looking back at where it all started.

The limited-edition Arc’teryx x BEAMS Anniversary Collection has officially launched, celebrating both the brands’ 25-year partnership and BEAMS’ 50th anniversary. The six-piece collection includes their first complete bouldering kit, but the standout is a piece pulled directly from the archives: the Theta AR Jacket from 1998.
The original Theta AR became one of Arc’teryx’s recognizable early technical shells, and its return keeps several details from the late-’90s version while updating the construction for today. The new edition uses waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX PRO ePE, with harness-compatible pockets, oversized zipper pulls and the bold colour blocking BEAMS has become known for.
This time, the palette is called Kōyō, named after the changing colours of autumn leaves in Japan. Deep brown, orange and other fall tones run throughout the collection, with BEAMS’ signature orange appearing prominently across the revived Theta AR.

That mix of references feels fitting for a collaboration that has always existed somewhere between the mountain and the city.
Arc’teryx and BEAMS first teamed up in 2001, when the Canadian outdoor brand’s technical designs were still largely associated with climbing, skiing and serious mountain gear. BEAMS helped place that same design language into a different context, using colour, styling and limited releases to give the pieces a life well beyond the trail.
Twenty-five years later, that crossover hardly feels unusual. Technical shells, climbing pants and trail-inspired accessories have become fixtures in everyday fashion, which makes revisiting one of the partnership’s earliest pieces especially well timed.
Beyond the Theta AR, the anniversary collection includes the BEAMS Gamma Jacket, relaxed Jogen Pants, a heavyweight long-sleeve shirt, the 15L Konseal Pack and the BEAMS Gamma Hat.

The Jogen Pants are perhaps the clearest example of the two brands meeting in the middle. Built as a functional climbing pant, the relaxed wide-leg silhouette leans into BEAMS’ Japanese-Americana influence, with an adjustable bungee hem giving it a more casual shape than traditional technical climbing gear.
The Gamma Jacket offers a lighter softshell option for changing weather, while the Konseal Pack brings the collection into climbing equipment with a compact 15-litre design made from abrasion-resistant Hadron fabric.
Together, the pieces form the collaboration’s first head-to-toe bouldering setup, but none of it looks confined to the climbing gym.

And that has always been the point.
Rather than simply putting two logos on the same product, Arc’teryx x BEAMS has spent the last 25 years playing with the idea that serious performance gear can exist comfortably in fashion, too.
The Arc’teryx x BEAMS Anniversary Collection is available now in limited quantities, following its September 25 launch.
