November 11 marked the opening of Whoopi = American Dream Shop in East Rutherford, New Jersey. To celebrate the opening, Whoopi Goldberg made a personal appearance at American Dream’s inaugural “Dream Drop”. This shop is Goldberg’s first stand-alone retail experience, which will be open through January 2020. The showcased are pieces from her DUBGEE collection and a mix of new and vintage holiday sweaters, as well as recently launched book “The Unqualified Hostess”.

Among from Goldberg’s meet and greet at the opening, the event also featured Whoopi’s granddaughter, Amarah Skye, who was hand painting purchased fashions. Sephora, who’s an American Dream future tenant, hosted three Mini Lip Service stations to offer festive touch-ups for guests.

The interior is inspired by Whoopi’s home, with decor pieces that were sourced and curated from her personal collection. Saturated walls and Art Deco furniture, as well as a holiday dining table,  featured towards the back of the shop, inspired by “The Unqualified Hostess”, creates a residential setting in the store.
