Resort destinations don’t come much classier than Monte Carlo. This small but luxurious city lies on the Riviera coast of Monaco, offering travellers the chance to enjoy the high life for a few days. Although this city may be small, there’s still plenty you’ll need to know in order to get the most from your trip. Here, we’ll run through when you should visit, where to pick up some luxurious clothing, and why you may want to check out an online casino deal from oddschecker in preparation for your trip to Monte Carlo Casino, among other tips.

Visit in Autumn or Spring

You could realistically turn up in Monte Carlo at any time of the year and have a good time, but some periods are better than others. Most first-time visitors find that spring or autumn is the best time to visit. During those times of the year, the weather is extremely pleasant, the hotel rooms are more affordable, and you get more of the city to yourself. If you’re desperate to see Monte Carlo at its liveliest, then pick the summer months — just be prepared to battle for space at the restaurants.

Stay in the City Centre

There are some cities where it’s best to stay slightly away from the city centre, due to the number of tourists or for other reasons. Monte Carlo is not one of those cities. While people who go regularly may prefer to stay slightly out of town, if it’s your first time, then look at staying as centrally as possible. Realistically you’ll only be in the city for a matter of days, and you won’t want to spend your time getting to and from places! If you’re in the centre, everything will be within walking distance.

If you’re visiting Monaco for a longer period, then you could consider spending a night or two in La Condamine, a smaller city not too far from Monte Carlo.

Hit the Casinos

James Bond fans will know that Monte Carlo is a casino-friendly city, since the city’s casinos have featured in two 007 movies: Never Say Never Again and the Pierce Brosnan classic, Goldeneye. But you don’t need to be a fan of Britain’s most famous fictional secret agent to enjoy Monte Carlo Casino; this is an outstanding attraction in its own right. You can simply enjoy the grandeur of the decor while you’re there but, for the true experience, look at playing a hand or two at the tables. You can even order a martini, shaken, not stirred, if you’re feeling especially Bond-esque!

Pick Up Some Clothes

If there’s one thing to know, it’s that Monte Carlo is a place to dress well. Meaning, you won’t have to look very far to see someone who’s wearing an outfit that is top level. You don’t need to have an outfit for every occasion in Monte Carlo but, if you’re a fashion-minded person, it could be worthwhile picking up some new threads. All of the world’s leading brands have a presence in Monte Carlo. You’ll have to pay for those luxury shopping experiences, of course, but there are slightly more affordable places to buy clothes, too.

Top tip: pay a visit to Le Metropole Shopping Center, which might just be one of the world’s best shopping centres. There are dozens of luxury shops there, all located within a beautiful shopping mall. Even if you don’t get out your wallet, it’s a fun place just to walk around.

Live the Lifestyle

Finally: remember to live the Monte Carlo lifestyle! This is a city that is excessive in pretty much every way, so why not jump on board with that philosophy while you’re there? You won’t have too many chances to sip on a lovely cocktail while you overlook top-dollar yachts. You can return to your normal life when you’re home; whilst you’re in Monte Carlo, the best thing to do is to live it up.
