Instructions:

  1. Grill hot dogs over medium heat for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally.
  2. Toast buns face-down on the grill for 1–2 minutes.
  3. Set up toppings buffet-style in small bowls. Let guests build their dream dog.

2. Red, White & Blueberry Caprese Skewers

Prep time: 10 minutes | Serves: 8–10 skewers

Ingredients:

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 1 cup mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • ½ cup fresh blueberries
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic glaze or reduction
  • Skewers or toothpicks

Instructions:

  1. On each skewer, thread: 1 blueberry, 1 mozzarella ball, 1 basil leaf, 1 tomato.
  2. Drizzle balsamic glaze over skewers right before serving.
  3. Serve chilled or room temp.

3. Quick Smash Burgers

Prep time: 25–30 minutes | Serves: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • Salt & pepper
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • Toppings: pickles, ketchup, mustard, burger sauce, onions

Instructions:

  1. Divide beef into 8 equal balls (about 2 oz each).
  2. Heat a cast iron pan or grill to high heat.
  3. Place 2 balls on the skillet, smash flat with a spatula, season, and cook 1–2 minutes per side.
  4. Add cheese, let melt.
  5. Stack patties, add toppings, and sandwich in toasted buns.

4. Firecracker Jalapeño Cheese Dip

Prep time: 10 minutes | Serves: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8 oz) package whipped cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar
  • 2 tbsp chopped pickled jalapeños
  • 1 tsp ranch seasoning
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes
  • Crushed red Doritos (for topping)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cheddar, jalapeños, ranch powder, and pepper flakes.
  2. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  3. Top with crushed Doritos right before serving.
  4. Serve with chips, crackers, or sliced peppers.

5. No-Bake Berry Shortcake Cups

Prep time: 15 minutes | Serves: 6

Ingredients:

  • 1 loaf store-bought pound cake, cubed
  • 1 pint strawberries, sliced
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 1 container whipped cream
  • Optional: 1 tbsp sugar + splash of lemon juice (for macerating berries)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, toss strawberries with sugar and lemon juice (optional).
  2. In clear plastic cups or glass jars, layer pound cake, whipped cream, strawberries, blueberries.
  3. Repeat layers. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a mint sprig.

BONUS: “The Sparkler” Cocktail / Mocktail

Prep time: 3 minutes | Serves: 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup lemonade
  • ½ cup soda water
  • ¼ cup fresh blueberries and strawberries
  • Optional: 2 oz vodka or tequila
  • Mint and lemon slices for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Muddle berries in a shaker or glass.
  2. Add lemonade, soda water, and spirits (if using). Stir.
  3. Serve over ice, garnish with mint and lemon. Add a sparkler for effect
