Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman reunite as the Owens sisters in a long-awaited sequel rooted in legacy, family, and a new generation of magic.
There are films that never really leave you—they settle in. In memory, in ritual, in the kind of nostalgia that only deepens with time. Practical Magic has always been one of them. Now, nearly three decades later, it’s officially returning.
The first teaser trailer for Practical Magic 2 has arrived.
Debuted by Warner Bros. at CinemaCon, the footage offers a first look at the long-anticipated sequel, reuniting Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as Sally and Gillian Owens. It doesn’t rush to explain itself. Instead, it leans into atmosphere—flickering candlelight, wind moving through open windows, and the quiet pull of the Owens house, unchanged but not untouched.
What’s clear is that this is a continuation, not a reinvention.

The film expands beyond the original story, introducing a new generation of Owens women while bringing back the eccentric aunts who helped define the first film. The mythology deepens, shifting from a contained story into something more generational—one that continues to circle the family’s long-standing curse and the choices that come with it.

Directed by Susanne Bier, Practical Magic 2 builds on the world first introduced in 1998, drawing inspiration from Alice Hoffman’s later work while maintaining the tone that turned the original into a cult favorite.

And notably, the teaser holds back just enough to remind you why the story endured in the first place—intimate, slightly elusive, and grounded in something emotional rather than spectacle.

The film is set to hit theaters on September 11, 2026.
Because some stories don’t fade.
They wait.
