8 Unusual Benefits of High Testosterone Levels

You probably know that high levels of testosterone are a good thing, but maybe you don’t know all of the different reasons why it is such an important hormone for men.

Intuitively, we know that the more testosterone a guy has the better. But what are the top actual benefits of having high testosterone levels? I’m glad you asked. Here they are:

  1. Attract More Women Faster & Easier

According to a study done at Wayne State University, women prefer men with higher levels of testosterone. In the study done, nearly every woman preferred one of the guys in the high testosterone category. Women are naturally more attracted to men with high testosterone levels because their primal instincts urge them to find the strongest and best provider (and protector) that they can. The bottom line is that you’ve got to do your best to raise your testosterone level too if you want to attract more women faster (and with less effort).

2: Better Overall Bedroom Performance (and Lasting Longer)

Actually, the truth of the matter regarding sex is that sex, or the anticipation of sex, boosts testosterone levels.

Testosterone levels increase when you have sex, and drop when you don’t have enough sex. But also, testosterone helps a man to have better sex because testosterone increases sexual desire, helps you to last longer, increases libido, and gives your body more endurance.

The bottom line? Having lots of sex boosts your testosterone levels, which will make you want to have more sex. And having high amounts of testosterone will cause you to have better sex and learn how to last longer in bed. Now that’s a cycle that is a very good thing, considering that most relationships fail because of bedroom problems.

  1. Increased Metabolic Rate (So You Can Stay Fit)

The more testosterone that you have, the higher your metabolism rate will be. What this means for you is that you will burn fat faster if you have higher amounts of testosterone.

Higher levels of testosterone inhibits or prevents fat cells from being formed. That’s why you see a lot of guys with high testosterone levels with 6 packs – they burn their fat faster, and high levels of testosterone stops fat from being created to begin with.

The other benefit is that muscle growth increases, and muscle burns more calories – another good side-effect.

  1. A Healthier Heart And More Energy

It may come as a bit of a surprise to you, but testosterone is actually very good for the heart. Low levels of testosterone can cause a lot of different types of cardiovascular problems.

But testosterone can actually widen arteries, according to a Harvard Medical School study. So increased levels of testosterone can help guys with angina, chest pain, and pressure when the heart doesn’t get enough blood.

It can also help the body to create more red blood cells than normal, which is great if you are anemic. But regardless, more red blood cells in general means a healthier and more energetic body.

  1. More Muscles and Less Fat

The is solid evidence that increased amounts of testosterone helps to increase muscle mass and also lose fat. If you add heavy lifting into the mix, you are bound to increase muscle mass and lose fat.

Muscle requires more calories and energy than fat cells do, so the more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn. This is why they say that muscle burns more fat. The more muscle you have, the more fat you can burn.

Leaner, muscular body mass versus fat body mass helps control weight and increases energy. A 36 month study done by the US National Library of Medicine of 108 men over age 65 showed that testosterone treatment decreased fat. The study also showed an increase of lean muscle mass in the trunk area of the same men who were tested.

Higher levels of testosterone will help you to gain more muscle and lose the fat.

  1. Improved Circulation (and Other Good Stuff)

One of the lesser known benefits of testosterone is that it improves the blood flow throughout the entire body. It does this by increasing the enzyme nitric oxide which widens and relaxes blood vessels and arteries.

Nitric oxide improves erections, workouts, and also recovery time between workouts. It also improves the process of nutrients making their way to cells in the body. It has even been known to reverse gang green in a patient who had diabetes.

You can naturally increase your nitric oxide levels by consuming more green leafy vegetables, like kale, spinach, arugula, and beet root.

So your mom was right. Eat your veggies – especially the green leafy ones.

  1. Stronger bones

The connection between low levels of testosterone and osteoporosis can be logically linked to the fact that more women suffer from osteoporosis than men do. One of the reasons for this is because, of course, women have lower levels of testosterone.

Recent studies have found that testosterone actually helps the bones to become denser, due to testosterone causing higher mineralization in the bones. Higher mineralization means denser, stronger bones.

Strong bones are good, and weak bones are bad.

  1. Higher Testosterone Levels Improve Your Mood

We all know that women can be moody. But did you know that men can be moody too? If a man does not have enough testosterone, he can be grumpy.

There is an article named “Low Testosterone Can Make Men Grumpy” which connects low testosterone to being irritable, low energy, and even depression.

In this article, Richard Giannotto, MD, a metabolic wellness physician in McLean, Va., named this condition – “irritable male syndrome.” He said, “Resulting behaviors include anger, sarcasm, frustration, sadness, depression, being withdrawn, hostile, and/or anxious, and dissatisfaction.”

An estimated 13 million American men suffer from low testosterone, and 90 percent go untreated according to Damon Raskin, MD, a physician practicing internal medicine in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

These are just some of the reasons why every guy should work on keeping a solid level of testosterone in his body (and there are many natural ways to do that). You might not even realize now, until you start to feel a lot better with higher testosterone levels. If these 8 benefits are motivating enough, do what you can to keep your testosterone levels high – eat your veggies, work out, and have lots of sex. Your body will thank you.

  1. More testosterone is also good for male fertility. Higher testosterone levels boost the production of ejaculate, which helps to increase sperm count – and intensifies sexual pleasure during climax.

  2. Would this also apply to transgenders in transition? I am 25 years old and want to transition to male through hormones like testosterone. If I have more testosterone, would I get these benefits as well?
