Joel Warren, a celebrity colorist and trendsetter in the industry, uses his 30 year legacy to challenge and pursue the ever-evolving beauty world.

Warren, previously known for his renowned collaborations, has most recently partnered with Saks Fifth Avenue to roll out state-of-the-art salons called The Salon Project. The Salon Project is not just a salon, but a full on experience. True visionaries, Warren and his team have created a beauty destination with expert stylists, top-notch services and the most desirable beauty brands. The Salon Project has most recently launched locations at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York City, Boca Raton and Long Island, with more locations set to open across the country.

The salon also offers high-end barber cuts for men, too. “Since the salon is located in the back of the men’s department, clients experience luxury before they even walk through the salon doors,” says Joel. Walking past the endless suits, leather shoes and designer goods, clients might even be tempted to shop following their appointments. Once inside, the high-end, relaxing vibe of the salon is palpable from the leather chairs, to beach scenes playing on flat screen TVs. Joel adds a contemporary twist to all of his salons and draws inspiration from the cities they’re located in, whether that’s incorporating touches of blues in Florida or pale pinks in New York City. Each salon is retro, yet glamourous, luxurious, yet modern. When it’s time to be seen, clients can expect that their stylist is highly skilled in everything from cut to color to shaving and even skincare and scalp treatments. Not only does the salon offer high quality cuts, but wellness treatments including hydrofacials, cryofacials, makeup touch-ups, hair removal and access to CBD beauty products and exclusive high end men’s brands of shampoos, conditioners, skincare and more that are hard to find anywhere else. This is exactly why Warren and team see the retail area as the perfect place to offer new products. Clients also don’t have to go back to the front of the store to make purchases. They can make the purchases right from their chairs with iPads or let their stylist know what they are looking to buy. Additionally, each client can feel isolated during their service which is a huge plus that most salons don’t offer. Instead of feeling like you’re being watched and on display in the middle of the room, clients are hidden by walls so that they can feel more comfortable. When it comes to recommending styles, Joel’s trend is always to tell clients to follow their gut and go with what they are most comfortable with. “Everybody is unique in their own way. It’s all about having the ability to figure out what that person wants and try to recreate the style in the best way they can,” says Joel.

At The Salon Project, each client is given a personalized and focused experience fit for a VIP. The Salon Project not only wants their clients to keep coming back, but their stylists. Joel and his team always emphasize the importance of the stylist-client relationship, giving the stylist the freedom and control to execute the cut and style they feel looks best, as well as offering recommendations for future product purchases and touch-ups.
