Don’t we all want to surprise our loved ones with a delicious meal on Father’s Day? But we end up losing quality time working in the kitchen itself. Worry not! A smart Dutch oven selection is all you need to catch up with the happy times as the food simmers.

Here’s a list of delightful recipes:

1. Pizza

A crunchy, flavorful pizza is an uncontested favorite and equally easy to make.

Ingredients:

Honda

For the dough:
4 ½ cups all purpose flour
½ tbsp granulated sugar
1 sachet (7g) dry yeast
4-5 tbsp olive oil
15 oz lukewarm water
1 tbsp kosher salt
For sauce:
1 15 oz canned tomatoes
1 tsp kosher salt
2 tsp olive oil
Pinch of granulated sugar
2 finely grated garlic cloves
Ground black pepper
Toppings:
Mozzarella cubed
Grated parmesan cheese
Olives
Mushrooms
Basil

Method:

Dough:
In a bowl, whisk flour, salt, sugar and yeast.
Add olive oil and water to the dry ingredients and mix till it takes a smooth texture of the dough.
Knead it till it is soft.
Cut it in three parts, brush with olive oil, plastic wrap them and keep in a warm place to rise for 1 ½ hours.
Sauce:
Puree the canned tomatoes in a blender and pour it out in a bowl.
Add salt, grated garlic, olive oil, pepper, sugar, and stir well till you get the desired flavor.
Pizza:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Roll out dough on parchment paper
Brush the dough with olive oil and evenly spread a thin layer of the sauce.
Add preferred toppings, mozzarella, and grated parmesan.
Lower the dough in the heated oven using a small paddle and even it out.
Bake for 12-15 minutes till golden and crisp.
Lift the pizza out using the parchment paper. Cut, plate, and enjoy!

2. Southern Fried Chicken

Who doesn’t like digging into the crispy-juicy goodness of fried chicken? With a Dutch oven at your disposal, the process is super easy!

Ingredients:

Flour
Oil
Buttermilk
Ranch dressing
Pepper
Salt
Herbs of choice

Method:

Brine chicken pieces for 3-6 hours in buttermilk
Put ½ inch oil in the oven and heat at 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
Take flour in a bowl/dish and season with salt, pepper, herbs, and ranch dressing.
Take buttermilk in another dish and dip the chicken piece in it first.
Place the chicken in the flour mixture.
Repeat, first buttermilk, then flour mixture.
Place the coated chicken pieces in the oven with hot oil and leave it for 40 minutes.
Turn the pieces over and leave them for 15 minutes.
Take them out carefully and serve!

3. Mac n Cheese

Welcome a new winner with this easy and absolutely delicious mac n cheese recipe! A little on the heavy side, this is a irresistible to any mac n cheese lover.

Ingredients:

12 ounce pasta
4 tbsp butter
4 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup medium cheddar cheese
1 cup parmesan
1 cup bread crumbs
1 tsp salt
½ tsp garlic powder
¼ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp taco seasoning

Method:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Boil the pasta in salted water till al-dente.
Prepare the sauce by adding butter, flour, milk, and heavy cream.
Keep stirring for 10 minutes till blended and thick.
Add pasta and cheese, keep folding till coated well.
Mix bread crumbs, seasoning, and taco seasoning to taste and add to the pasta surface.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 mins. Cook in the broiler for 10 mins.
Let it sit for 20 mins and serve.

4. Pork Ribs

Stuffed with hearty, traditional flavors enjoy tender pork ribs with this Dutch oven recipe. A family favorite for all BBQ lovers, this goes perfectly well with any occasion. Pair this with some veggies and wine, you have a masterpiece ready.

Ingredients:

3 pounds pork
2 cups BBQ sauce
6 ounces Dr. Pepper or Coke
3 tbsp BBQ dry rub

Method:

Slice rib portions and season with dry rub
First layer of ¼ cup BBQ sauce in the oven followed by the ribs, ribs, soda and sauce.
Cover lid and place 20 coals on top and bottom of the oven, each.
Let it cook for about 1.5 hours. Keep checking the heat at 15-30 min intervals.

5. Caprese Stuffed Chicken

The goodness of delightful Caprese salad, meets tender and juicy chicken! Light and healthy, this is going to stay with you for a long time.

Ingredients:

Chicken breasts
String cheese
Basil leaves
Roma tomatoes slices
Salt
Pepper
Olive oil
Balsamic vinegar

Method:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fafrenheit.
Slice chicken breasts to create pockets and stuff with string cheese, sliced tomatoes, basil leaves, season well and secure with toothpicks.
Sprinkle oil, place in the oven, add some extra seasoning and cook till golden-brown.
Transfer to the oven for 15 mins and it’s done!

6. Apple Fritters

On a happy occasion, who wouldn’t want some dessert? End the day on a sweet note with easy and delectable apple fritters!

Ingredients:

Canola oil
½ cup Granulated sugar
1 tsp Apple pie spice, divided
1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 tbsp light brown sugar
1 ½ tsp baking powder
¼ tsp kosher salt
½ cup apple cider
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large apple

Method:

Fill oven with 1 ½ inches of oil and heat at 350 degree Fahrenheit.
Mix granulated sugar and ½ tsp pie spice and set aside.
Whisk flour, salt, pie spice, and sugar. Separately mix cider, egg, and vanilla extract. Combine wet and dry ingredient.
Peel, core, and cut the apple into halves. Coarsely grate one half and dice the other. Add and fold in batter.
Drop spoonfuls of batter into heated oil and fry until golden brown.
Toss fritters in spice sugar.
Cool and serve.
